To Adjust Text Size on Screen
Have difficulty reading smaller text sizes?
You can adjust the size of displayed text on your own computer monitor to
make it easier to read.
The NSLEO site is currently a 12 point Arial font
but you can increase it in your Internet Explorer browser by clicking on:
- View in the menu bar at the top of the
browser
- Position your mouse pointer on Text Size
- The small triangular arrow pointing to the right
will reveal a secondary, drop down menu so that you can select from:
Remember that adjusting text size will make the page
rearrange itself; graphics and other images may move around as the larger
text re-wraps itself around the page items.
To Adjust Screen Schemes
You can also adjust the overall size of your Windows
display, which will affect how all programs appear, not just your
web browser.
- Minimize or close all your Windows until you can
see the main Desktop, or screen background.
- Click the right hand mouse button on a blank part
of the screen i.e. some place without an icon or shortcut.
- A drop down menu should appear; select
Properties at the bottom.
- Various tabs should appear that affect the screen
properties; click on the Appearance tab.
- There should be a small example of how your
current settings look, colours and so on.
- Three menus with drop down arrows control
Windows & Buttons, Colour Scheme and Font Size.
- You can experiment with these menus to see how
the different schemes display until you find the right size and colours
for you.
- Click Ok to apply the changes or Cancel
or X to discard changes.
