PDEPC
The Persons with Disabilities Emergency Preparedness Committee was formed in 2004 after Hurricane Juan and “White Juan.” Persons with disabilities felt they needed more information to help them prepare for the different types of disasters that affect Nova Scotia. The committee has developed a guide which provides information on general emergency preparedness along with a range of specific tips for those who may be older, frail, have a disability or mobility issues that need to be considered when preparing for an emergency or disaster. The booklet is available in alternate formats including French, Braille, ASL DVD and Audio. It can also be found online by clicking here. If you would like to request a copy of the booklet please contact us at 1-866-696-7536.
